Petrol prices are sky-high, not to mention diesel. Driving around on the farm for hours every day is a necessity, but the costs can be unmanageable. Walking is not really an option either.
That is where Lekkewaan’s battery-powered vehicles come in!
“Lekkewaan has been on the market for six months now. We initially started by importing the LekkeTail G three-wheeler to South Africa about five years ago. However, we noticed it did not work for all farmers, especially on two-track farm paths. Some preferred to have two wheels in front rather than one,” explains Pierneef Smit of Lekkewaan South Africa.
That is when the Lekkewaan was designed, giving you the ability to get around the farm with four wheels.

The three-wheeler
The LekkeTail G three-wheeler is battery-operated and can take you up to 30 to 40 km on a full charge. “It is mainly used by farm foremen who need to get around quickly,” Pierneef explains.
The battery is charged with a standard charger in about six to eight hours. It can carry a load of up to 350 kg!
The Lekkewaan wheelbarrow
This handy wheelbarrow can carry a whopping 500 kg and is also battery-powered. After a charge of six to eight hours, it can run continuously for five to six hours. With short trips, you can get up to eight hours in a day.
The wheelbarrow is very easy to control, with a simple lever that moves forward or backward in the direction you want to go.
Lekkewaan has four warehouses across the country for when you need spare parts for your vehicles. All the necessary parts are kept in these warehouses. Additionally, there are 62 agents nationwide who stock parts, as well as technicians who can assist with repairs.
The wheels do not have inner tubes, making them easier to repair.
Lekkewaan Noddy
This four-wheeled, battery-powered cart is perfect for farm foremen to get around. There is no need for petrol or diesel to operate it.
It comes in three colours: blue, cream, and green. “It is designed for African conditions, making it ideal for farmers. The robust wheels do not have inner tubes,” says Pierneef.
The cart is also light enough that it will not compact the soil, making it especially popular among irrigation farmers who need to quickly open and close valves or transport equipment to fix pipes.
