“The trusses are made from steel pipe,” says Theuns Dreyer. “The advantage is a super strong structure where the water flows through without adding extra weight to pivots.”
Farmers can choose between a petrol- or water-driven unit to move the pivot. Water-driven means it only needs water pressure to move, no electricity. But if the pressure is not enough on a small one-tower pivot, farmers can rely on a motor.
