Arno Vlok, owner of the farm Welgevonden outside Riebeeck-Kasteel near Malmesbury, has great confidence in Knittex’s nets that have been protecting his nectarine trees and vineyards from hail and wind for the past 23 years. He initially considered crop insurance, but it was far too expensive. All grace was to cover the orchards with nets.
When he planted another 2,5 ha of peaches in the year 2000, he approached Knittex to advise him. “It’s now 23 years later, and there’s still fruit under that first net,” Arno says.
