Slaughter-ready cattle, pregnant females, and open heifers are all available to the buyer during the auction. The buyer also has several options available to them during the sheep portion of the auction.
The hormone-free status of the entire herd on the farm applies to all of the animals that are kept there. Phillip Hattingh, the manager of the four farms located on Lindley, claims that all of the farms only practise natural methods of agriculture. In addition to animals that are already prepared for slaughter, other types of cattle such as Brahmans (Nedibest Brahman), Beefmasters, Simbras, and Droughtmasters are also raised. The farm’s proximity to the False River allows for sufficient fodder to be planted for the animals that are kept there.
