Electric vehicles (EV) are certainly no longer a new concept. Eleksa opened their doors in 2013 as the proud distributors of electric vehicles, with a strong trade network of 36 dealers across the country. From e-motorcycles to smaller electric vehicles that come in handy for farming tasks, Eleksa offers everything and more than what your heart desires!
Eleksa’s electric vehicles represent a significant step forward in agricultural technology and offer farmers the transport solutions they need to increase their productivity, reduce costs, limit the impact on the environment, and secure the future of food production.
Philip Geyser, Managing Director of the Eleksa group, says: “Eleksa is strongly focused on the agricultural sector, and we are very grateful to the agricultural sector. Our farmers order one or two vehicles and when you come back to them, they have fifteen or twenty vehicles on the farm. I think this speaks largely to service and the low maintenance the vehicles require. The two biggest expenses on a farm is labour and fuel. We give you a vehicle that works electrically, without fuel, and can be recharged with solar energy. We give you a virtually maintenance-free reliable vehicle, which has a loading capacity of half or three-quarters of a tonne with which farmers can transport their goods, with an on-site repair service. Our teams come to visit you when there is a problem, or when repairs are needed.”
He says: “We are focused on moving as close as possible to our customers, understanding their needs, adding value how and where we can, and we really want to walk a path with farmers.”
Eleksa does the process right and follows the correct steps. Phillip says: “Just do your homework. Make sure that the vehicle you buy is safe and has been declared safe by the authorities. Unsafe vehicles can lead to personal liability in the event that accidents occur.”
At Eleksa, vehicles are examined by the NRCS (National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications) and homologated for legal road use.
Philip adds: “All our vehicles are roadworthy, so you can drive between your farms, you can drive over the tarmac (should the driver have his driving license).”
Philip adds: “Another advantage that Eleksa offers to customers is that they also repair other electric vehicles and keep enough spare parts to solve any problem in no time.”
Exciting news is that Eleksa is also currently working on a manufacturing plant in South Africa, so soon Eleksa can offer proudly South African products to customers.
