Massey Ferguson, a world famous manufacturer of agricultural equipment, once again impressed farmers at NAMPO Cape this year with their impressive presence.

Farmers and agricultural enthusiasts gathered together at the remarkable stand of Massey Ferguson, which was one of the highlights of the show.

AGCO, which included Massey Ferguson and Fendt’s brand, boasted with the largest stand at NAMPO Cape this year.

According to Brendon Puttick, Area Manager of AGCO, their stand is bigger and better than ever before. They showed farmers the wide variety of equipment they have that can bring value to any farm. “We want to be closer to you, the farmer!” he said.

Massey Ferguson did not stand back at all this year. They had an exhibition, which really highlighted their commitment to innovative agricultural technology and machinery.

Their exhibition focused not only on size, but also on practical solutions that promote efficiency and productivity for the farmer.

Brendon Puttick, Massey Ferguson’s Area Manager in the Western Cape, introduced the manufacturer’s range of equipment. Here he is with the S 8737, which is the most powerful tractor in this range in South Africa.

Why Massey Ferguson charms farmers again and again

Massey Ferguson’s reliability, innovation and commitment to the agricultural community was clearly present at NAMPO Cape 2024.

Their involvement in the agricultural industry is about more than just machinery and equipment – for them it is about supporting farmers in every aspect of their work.

Their exhibition once again proved why they are seen as a leading brand in the agricultural sector.

With a spectacular display of machinery, expertise and technological advances, Massey Ferguson’s stand at NAMPO Cape 2024 clearly demonstrated that they are an established force in the agricultural industry, and that they remain at the forefront of innovation and solutions for the modern farmer.

Haymaking equipment includes the DM 357 flat cutter which is excellent for cutting oats.

A comprehensive solution for every farmer

Massey Ferguson not only displayed tractors and other agricultural equipment, but also gave farmers the opportunity to talk to Massey’s experts about the best practices in modern farming.

Agricultural events such as NAMPO Cape offer Massey a valuable platform to rub shoulders with farmers and stakeholders in the industry, to hold discussions about agricultural challenges, with solutions that are focused on the unique needs of farmers in South Africa.

Massey Ferguson’s 500R self-propelled sprayer has a 3 500 litre tank and a 30 metre boom with 9 or 36 sections.

Tractors and agricultural equipment that make a difference

One of the attractions at Massey’s NAMPO Cape stand was the introduction of their new MF 8S series tractors, which are already attracting great interest worldwide.

These tractors offer unmatched performance and comfort for farmers who are serious about their business. With powerful engines, advanced technology and fuel efficiency in a class of its own, these tractors have turned many heads.

Brendon says: “The Global series of tractors are in a class of their own and way ahead of their time. This includes the 47 to the 67 series, such as the 5709, the 5710 and the 6713. The tractors are also equipped with the well-known AGCO Power engine, which is one of a kind when it comes to effective fuel consumption that saves you money.”

Massey Ferguson’s flagship is the 8737 tractor with the highest power output of 376 kW (370 hp) in the Global range.

“Just like its smaller brother, the 7S 210, the tractor is equipped with a DynaVT gearbox. The smaller model is a real workhorse for general farm work, and then there is also the baby brother of the series, the 7S 155, which has a Dyna6 gearbox,” Brendon explains.

But Massey Ferguson’s focus is not only on tractors – the company is a true one-stop-shop for farm equipment.

The 9795 harvester will make short shrift of the vast grain fields of the Western Cape and elsewhere. The Class 7 harvester has a large tank capacity and excellent unloading capacity, and is equipped with a Field View function.

That is not all; their product range also includes haymaking equipment, such as the DM 357 flat cutter which is excellent for cutting oats, and quite a few other smaller cutters and rakes for a variety of cutting work on a grain farm.

Massey also displayed their popular 500R self-propelled sprayer with a 3 500 litre tank and a 30 metre boom, with 9 or 36 sections.

The sprayer is unique in that it is mobile – the wheels are always on the ground. The sprayer is also equipped with a four-wheel drive system that prevents wheel slippage.

In addition, it is the most affordable self-propelled sprayer on the market, with all the accessories you need, such as a weather station so you know what to expect from the weather, and a GPS system.
