Havco is known for manufacturing purpose-built equipment designed for farmers. With over 40 years in the industry, you can rest assured that they have the appropriate equipment for your farming needs. Whether you want to spread manure and fertiliser or treat seeds, you can rely on Havco.
In 1981, Klasie Viljoen, Founder and Director of Havco, opened the company’s doors in Standerton for the first time. Today, he still plays a significant role in the company and remains largely responsible for designs. Dolf Volschenk, Co-director, has also been with Havco for over 16 years.
Havco is renowned for producing heavy-duty purpose-built equipment. They believe in their existing product range, designed to get the job done and keep working.
Manure spreaders
Dolf explains that many farmers are already busy spreading manure in preparation for the next planting season. Their heavy-duty spreader may be just what your farm needs.
“In modern grain cultivation, manure and compost are valuable for soil structure, nutritional value, and enhancing soil microbes. Nowadays, sustainability is critical,” explains Dolf.
Havco offers a range of spreaders with sizes ranging from 14 to 22 m³, with various drivetrains. They can be powered by a PTO or full hydraulic drive, and there is even an option for a combined PTO and hydraulic drive.
You can order them as single or tandem axle units with a curtain or wide-spreading pattern. The choice depends on the material type and the farmer’s needs. Havco primarily uses BPW suspension, and their spreaders come equipped with high-flotation tires.
“Our spreaders are industrially reliable and proven,” states Dolf proudly.
Seed treatment machines
Last year, they introduced a new product to the market: Havco’s seed treatment machines. Dolf says they are excited to see how these machines sell this year.
These seed treatment machines are mainly used for treating soya bean seeds with inoculants. With this machine, seeds can be handled in bags or bulk.
Havco offers two models in the range: their static 2 000 kg model and their mobile 1 500 kg model. Both models can off-load at bag stations or into bulk containers or bulk bags.
Some features of the seed treatment machines include:
- Teflon-coated auger
- Variable speed control (VSD)
- Heavy-duty precision application pump
- 1 500 to 2 000 kg hoppers
- Easy handling with road wheels and lights
- Easy calibration
- High accuracy
- Both models can treat up to 9 tonnes of seed per hour
