If you are entering your final or post-graduate year of agricultural studies in 2025, then you may just be eligible to apply for one of two fully funded bursaries on offer by Beefmaster Group, a leading supplier of world-class beef products. It is one of largest privately-owned and family-run beef production companies in South Africa.

This initiative aligns with Beefmaster’s commitment to nurturing future leaders in agriculture by providing students with the financial support to complete their studies and prepare for careers in the agricultural sector.

“As part of our human capital development strategy, we are offering bursaries to two students who are studying towards their final year or / and post-graduate studies in BSc Agriculture majoring in Agricultural Economics, BSc Agriculture majoring in Animal Science or B Agriculture with majoring in Animal Production,” explains Cindy Nkgoeng, HR manager at Beefmaster Group.

Nkgoeng adds that the business has identified these competencies as core skills required to advance agriculture, specifically the beef industry.

“We believe in investing in South Africa’s future agricultural professionals, as they are the key to the future of innovation in our industry,” says Nkgoeng.

“Our bursary program not only provides financial assistance but also opens the door for students to join a supportive and dynamic team committed to global excellence.”

Bursaries will cover 100% of the recipient’s study costs, including tuition fees, textbooks, and accommodation, allowing students to focus on their studies without financial stress.

“We have been running this program since 2023, with two students already benefiting and currently working for the company, as well as two new bursary recipients in 2024. For 2025, we will be sponsoring two additional students.”

To be eligible, students must be South African citizens, enrolled in the final year or Honours-level postgraduate study with an outstanding academic record, and be pursuing studies in one of the listed disciplines above.

How to Apply: Interested students must submit:

  • A brief CV, including personal information
  • A half-page motivation on why they deserve the bursary
  • Certified copies of their South African ID, Grade 12/Matric certificate, and full academic record

Applications should be emailed to Karabo Gaanakgomo at karabo@beefmaster.co.za by the closing date of 30th November 2024. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews and, if successful, will sign a bursary agreement with Beefmaster Group.

“We’re excited to see applications from ambitious students who are eager to make an impact in the agricultural and beef industries,” concludes Nkgoeng.
